Gosh, it's been a while since my last post! I do however have the BEST excuse ever. On the 3rd June we celebrated the launch of our brick and mortar store on Fairfax Street, Bristol.
Needless to say the last few weeks have been hectic indeed! If you follow us on social media you'll know all about it but I thought I'd take a little time out to write up a post and share some pictures from the event (kindly taken by my good friend Jojo of Steal the Day Photography).
So on to the details. I started the online pattern store towards the end of 2015 not really knowing where it would lead. I'd been working at a store offering a great range of quilting cottons but decided I wanted to take a step back to focus on dressmaking so when Eve of BettyRae Vintage later approached me about sharing a space, a dressmaking specific store seemed like a great local addition.
My ultimate goal for the store (and indeed webstore too!) is to offer a great range of indie patterns alongside a selection of truly wearable apparel fabrics, denims, knits -the sort of things I would fill my wardrobe with. Of course there is always room for a couple of cheeky printed poplins but the bread and butter will be solids and contemporary geometrics. With BettyRae on site there is even a range of authentic vintage garments on hand to peruse for inspiration.
The launch night was so much fun. We had a great time! There are so may people to thank, my patient and supportive other half, Jojo, Eve & Rory, Leo & Rox, everyone who came down to help us celebrate and everyone who has shown us so much support in our first week of trading! The list continues...
If you're local to the Bristol area then I can't wait to meet you! If not, fear not -I'll be slowly bringing the website up to speed to ensure that the same products are available online with affordable flat rate shipping.
Until next time... Happy Sewing Friends! x
